How To Make Homemade Sweet Pastry
- 100g / 4oz Butter - Chilled and cut in to pieces
- 40g / 1.5oz Icing Sugar
- 175g / 6oz Plain Flour
- 1 Egg - Beaten
- 1 - 2 Tablespoons of Chilled Water
- PME Flour Duster
- PME Non- Stick Rolling Pin
- And a sieve, whisk and 2 mixing bowls!
Mix together the salt, icing sugar, flour in a mixing bowl and add the butter.
Use, either a spoon or fingertips to rub the butter in to the dry mixture until the whole mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
Make a well in the centre of the bowl by pushing the breadcrumb mixture around the edges and pour in the water and the beaten egg.
Combine the breadcrumbs and egg/water mixture together using your hands or a wooden spoon.
Once your mixture is consistent throughout, wrap the pastry in clingfilm and refridgerate for at least 30 minutes.
Roll out your pastry on a floured surface and it is ready to use!
